McKenna represented her sixth grade classroom again in the school spelling Bee for 4th-6th graders. There were 18 children in the Bee.
Her words for each round:
- Dollar
- Simile
- Strict
- Zero
- Menu
- Easel
- Bundle
- Dune
- Keen
- Daily
- Tamale
- Toucan (4 kids left)
- Polygon (McKenna and Dean left)
- Panic
- Idiom
- Balcony, at this one McKenna looks at me and smiles broadly because she missed it last year so we had practiced it a bunch. The pronunciation last year kind of tripper her up, it sounded like "bellcony" so this year she was right on that.
- Ravioli, Dean misses Macaroni on this round and McKenna has to get the next two correct to win
- Bandit
- Burrito
She didn't miss a single word and won Dean by correctly spelling the last two words. She goes to District sometime in the next little bit.
